FALL IS HERE!

i love fall... because fall means my birthday and unlike most assholes, i don't care about getting older. it's another fucking year i'm alive... that's awesome! also, my birthday this year is pretty epic, it being on 10/10/10 and all. i will be spending my holiday in Chicago this year which will be also awesome! ...until i come home to my practically empty paycheck 'cause i had to call off 4 days for my epic birthday weekend in Chicago. (yay, life!) however, in my humble opinion, happiness, fun, friendships and celebrations of life events trump money any day... even if it means i can't afford new jeans for another month.

anyways, still working on my site. almost done, but no one reads this, so it's really not a pressing issue if i give you(who?) a date when it will be done(soon).

so in lieu of this, i give you my favorite song right now (it will change in a week or two):

i heard this song a few weeks ago on SIRIUS XM U while parking, in an irritated fit, outside my boyfriend's apartment (i had to park a few blocks away, so totally stupid, i know). anyways, the song brought me back down to earth where it's okay to park a few blocks away from your destination, and life isn't so bad. however, it reminded me of something...
i'm still not sure what, but the best i can come up with is if the lead singer of deerhunter, bradford cox, let nina persson of the cardigans sing instead, it probably would have been the best track on the cardigan's gran turismo

and you are thinking, 'what an interesting thought', of course. 'cause, you know what, it is. i'm sorry your brain didn't come up with that. actually, i'm not sorry. i worked, went to walmart and bought a giant floor lamp, put it together, and that thought came into my brain. boom. i'm pretty much talking to myself, so i declare myself the winner of awesome thoughts.

anyways, when i was in high school, i used to drive upstate to visit my boyfriend at what i've always referred to as "car school". i listened to that cardigans album while driving that tedious drive (i would switch between that and dj shadow), and it reminds me of those road trips, by myself, going through the middle of nowhere at night and admiring the stars i never get to see, thanks to living in the city. as old people say, it reminds me of a simpler time, where apparently it was easier to go outside the city and look at stars and planets and the unknown.

so, i leave you with this... my favorite song from gran turismo --

OH HAI

it's been a long process, but i've been working my little butt off trying to get this website together. i have one official album set up and about three notebooks full of notes of what i'd like to do/change.

i put some links up to other blogs. blogs by friends and locals and then the blogs that are part of blog radio on sirius XMU that i enjoy listening to while driving around (to and from work). i wonder how these blogs get ahold of these songs that are about to hit fame (aka being on our independent indie radio station or in a car commercial) before they get there. and speaking of which, "home" by edward sharpe and the magnetic who gives a shits just came on itunes. i heard this on sirius XMU and played the shit out of it, i loved it so much. now i hear it on the radio.
so, the question is, do i need a radio spot/successful blog or do i need to start delivering pizzas again so i can listen to satellite radio for 5 hours at a time to hear the
new, good shit?

anyways, i'd like to have a blog that combines my photography and crappy art with good music. whatever genre it all may be. without the whiney gripes of everyday life. who needs that? not me!

so, we'll see how it goes.

and don't think i forgot about you. i didn't forget your present. here you go:

the only VAMPIRE WEEKEND song i like, 'CAMPUS':

SECOND POST

well, it's nearly 7am now... and i'm making another post mostly to see how this layout is working out. (i'm checking it in three browsers 'cause i may or may not be a dork.)

BUT! all is not lost in reading this... i'll give you another present.

i downloaded this song about 12 days ago and this just in... itunes says i've listened to it 34 times.

it's a good'n.
